Warrior is a city in Jefferson and Blount counties in the State of Alabama. It was incorporated in either 1889 or 1899, though most records cite the 1889 date. At the 2010 census the population was 3,176. It is a northern suburb of Birmingham.
The city takes its name from the Warrior coal fields, which J. T. Pierce opened in 1872 in the vicinity. The coal fields were named, in turn, after the Black Warrior River that drains them. The town, which was built on a spur of the L & N Railroad, was originally Warrior Station. The Warrior Post Office (35180) was established in 1872.
Warrior is the northernmost city in Jefferson County, Alabama, with outlying parts of the city in Blount County. It is traversed by I-65 and U.S. Highway 31.
Warrior is located at 33°48'48.985" North, 86°48'41.238" West (33.813607, -86.811455).
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.8 square miles (25.3 km2), all of it land.
Warrior is in the Central Standard time zone. The elevation at the center of town is 564 feet (172 m), though it ranges from over 620 feet (190 m) north of the center to less than 300 feet (91 m) along the Locust Fork of the Black Warrior River, which forms the southern boundary of the city.
In a unanimous vote, the Warrior Planning and Zoning Commission denied Church's International zoning request for lots of land on Poplar Street. The church requested the land to be rezoned for agricultural instead of an institution. The site of the land is where the old Warrior School used to stand. More than 70 residents showed up to the meeting at City Hall, the crowd overflowed into the hallway. Many residents came ready to ask their questions and voice their concerns on the usage of the land and its owners. Some residents brought up the allegations against the congregation's founders, Robin D. Bullock and Robin R. Bullock, concerning money. Alabama State Troopers have shut down Interstate 65 North at the Warrior exit due to fires that are burning along the highway Thursday afternoon. Alabama Forestry Commission Spokeswoman Coleen Vansant said there are three separate fires at Kimberly, Hayden and Warrior. Crews have contained the Kimberly fire. They are trying to contain the fires at Warrior and Hayden. Authorities have said that the fires were intentionally set. Vansant is asking drivers to avoid the area if they can. Troopers are dealing with bumper-to-bumper traffic at the scene. Traffic is also very congested on Highway 31 in Warrior.

Robin D. Bullock is a man who leads Church International in Warrior, Alabama. He believes that God tells him things that will happen in the future. On January 6, 2021, thousands of people stormed the U.S. Capitol in support of former president Donald Trump. Robin was there and because of his prophecies surrounding the election, Church International went viral on social media overnight. Suddenly they had a much bigger outreach, more church members, and more money. But now as their church is rapidly expanding, some people are really worried about their intentions.
